There are 5 main steps of the Totus Tuition approach: Consultation, Assessment, Scheduling, Teaching and Results.

 

 

Consultation

 

Our free consultation gives parents the chance to one of our expert advisors to discuss their child’s current level of ability, their goals and what they’re looking for. We’ll then be able to discuss how Totus Tuition can work for your family and book you in for an assessment.

 

 

Assessment

 

Each new student is assessed using the unique Ambient Assessment which tells us all we need to know about how your child's brain works.

 

 

Following this, you'll receive feedback and will be given a take-away document detailing our insights on your child. These will also include handy hints that you can use to help them at home.

 

 

Scheduling

 

Following your assessment, we’ll discuss which group we would recommend for your child and work around your timetable to schedule a weekly lesson that works for you.

 

 

Teaching

 

Lessons are taught with a maximum ratio of 1 tutor to 6 children and are 2 hours long.

 

 

Our lessons offer the opportunity for students to regularly interact with the other children in their group, allowing them to develop important skills such as emotional intelligence. We’ve found that group work spurs them on with a little healthy competition whilst being a small enough group that each child can receive individual attention every lesson.

Results

 

At Totus Tuition we have a proven track record of getting children the marks they want; whether this is a school entrance exam or raising general ability.

 

 

Children need more than just subject knowledge to ace an exam, so as well as teaching the core material and giving homework, we teach exam technique, build confidence and speed. Our Step Up Classes for year 5 students build these skills further through mock testing in a realistic exam environment as well as building a broader set of skills, such as problem-solving, that are crucial to exam success.

 

 

Similarly, our Step Up Classes for year 6 students provide an opportunity to keep the mind agile through challenging yet fun extension work. This is aimed at preparing children for SATs and entry to year 7.
