Step Up Weekly (10-12 year olds)

 

Step Up Weekly classes are designed to build on children’s Year 5 entrance test preparation to ensure they continue to be stretched in English and Maths. 

 

Content is of an advanced year six standard working towards SATs level 6 (equivalent to the average performance of a year nine student). This will be a natural progression for children who have already prepared for entrance tests; content that is not only enjoyable but ensures that children continue to work to their full potential. Furthermore, this will help to ease the difficult transition that children face between primary and secondary school.

 

 

Step-Up is a bold and original approach to preparing students - and their parents - for the leap to secondary school.

 

 

Created in collaboration with our sister centre in Essex, each of our Step Up classes gives children extension work to equip them with the personal and academic skills they will need to thrive at secondary school.

 

 

As well as teaching in maths and English, this means an education in problem-solving, building self-esteem and revision techniques, amongst others.

 

We currently only offer this weekly course in Chelmsford, on a Tuesday afternoon.
